This 1947 portfolio features 24 vivid color reproductions of Winold Reiss’ paintings of the Blackfeet Indians, complemented by a 12-page historical pamphlet by Frank Bird Linderman. Published by Great Northern Railroad, it includes biographical notes on both artists and is housed in the original illustrated envelope. Reiss, a German-American artist, created over 250 works depicting Native Americans, with these pieces commissioned for wide distribution by the Great Northern Railway from the 1920s through the 1950s. This set is a pristine example of his celebrated work.
